PSA Campaign Posters - Dyslexia

PSA Campaign Posters on Dyslexia
Project Brief:
Project three in Graphic Art 235 (BYUi) is a set of three professional quality posters that could be used for a Public Service Announcement (PSA) printed ad campaign. The subject of the posters was to be the same across the three, and include a topic or issue that currently affects a specific group, individual(s), or communities. Each poster should be unique, but all three should be unified in some way to make it clear that they are a set, or part of the same campaign. The posters were to be designed to be printed on 11" x 17" high quality paper.

Situation (Fictional):
I have been hired by a non-profit organization (the International Dyslexia Association), along with The Ad Council, to develop, design, and create a three poster print campaign that will run in major cities across the United States.
I was to create a campaign that has a new, unique, or interesting angle on the topic to get the audience's attention in a more effective way.  I was to consider who, of the larger audience for the topic, has not payed attention to the past messages, and find a way to connect with that group or subgroup in a way that will get their attention, and create a strong opportunity for action.
I found that the group that needs to hear the message of understanding and being knowledgeable about the symptoms of dyslexia is a combination of teachers and parents of 5 - 10 year old children. My campaign is designed to appeal to those people in a humorous, but serious way. The idea is to grab attention by showing how some dyslexic children might see or understand common words in an uncommon way.
The Final Candidates
This project resulted in two main design directions, from which I had to choose one direction to pursue for the final submission (above).  Here are some of the final candidates I enjoyed working on, and want to share.
My Process
The process I followed for this project includes defining the topic and message that would be used for the campaign; discovery through brainstorming, sketching, and gathering visual assets; designing through visual experiments and many rounds of digital composition; and finally the delivery of the final images.  Below is a visual storyboard of some of this process.
